We are pleased to offer self-catering accommodation in a newly erected log cabin, built in the grounds of our 17th century home, with views of The North Downs here in Thurnham, Kent.The Cabin (23ft by 10ft) has been decorated and fitted out with a contemporary look and offers full heating throughout.  The bedroom has a comfortable double bed, with an en suite shower room.  We provide toiletries, hairdryer, and a couple of towelling robes with matching slippers, just so you’ll feel pampered!  And if you need it, there is a futon in the living room that can be converted into an extra bed.After a day spent enjoying the outdoors, you might want to relax in front of the television or just enjoy the flicker of the flames created by our instant-heat electric fire.  If you want to prepare your own meals, there’s an oven, microwave and hobs.  We’ll even arrange for a food delivery if that’s what you want and store it in the refrigerator ready for your arrival.Weather permitting, you will be able to sit out on your own private veranda that overlooks the North Downs and dine alfresco.  You’ll find a barbecue in the shed we have provided, which can also house any bikes you might decide to bring.  Fortunately, The Cabin is completely fenced, with its own entrance and land, so if you do bring a four-legged friend, you can all relax.We can advise you on local walks and cycle routes, even those including our wonderful local pubs!  This area is steeped in history so you might perhaps choose to visit nearby Leeds Castle and find out why Henry VIII stayed there.  The shops are a short drive away.If you are looking for a rural retreat, set at the end of a bridleway and surrounded by fields, why not use The Cabin as a base?  Whatever your individual requirements – whether it be walking, biking or a romantic break – we will ensure a tailored approach to your stay, in a clean and well-maintained environment.  Also provided:Blu-ray player, electric kettle, toaster, small fridge freezer, boot warmer, ordnance survey maps, bed linen and towels included, battery operated torch, fold-away dining table, chairs and coffee table, Scrabble and cards.  Sun loungers.Travel cot, high chair, dog bed.On request with additional cost:  welcome hamper, breakfast hamper, food order, cooked breakfasts, home-made evening meals to reheat, packed lunches, cleaning and laundry service. The Barn was originally the coach house and stabling for Green Farm when this was the Kings Head Coaching Inn. Together with the “Cow Shed”, it forms a luxury holiday let with accommodation for up to 12 guests, speak to us if you want 14. Green Farm Barn provides a wonderful place for family get-togethers, two or three families holidaying together or groups of friends wanting to get away! We are very proud to have just received 4 Rosettes with a Gold Award from VisitEngland.There are five bedrooms; three ground floor en-suite, one with full wheelchair access that is suitable for people with disabilities, all with 6ft wide super-king double beds. Two charming, peaceful, self-contained cottages, one with a large private garden set in c. 4 acres; part of a 500 year old Kentish Hall house and  listed Grade II by English Heritage.Perfect for relaxing  and walking in beautiful surroundings.Overlooking Chilham Castle Park,  nestling in an  ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ designated of significant landscape value by the government’s Natural England.  The Kent chalk downlands, deciduous woods, historic forests, lakes, water meadows, apple and hop orchards provide the  perfect setting in which to unwind. A  single-track Kentish lane passes the cottages and comes to a dead end after about 1/3 mile. It continues as an off road footpath into Kings’ Wood and Godmersham Park:this  is part of the ancient Pilgrims’ Way to Canterbury  and one of the UK’s National Trails, theNorth Downs Way.The famous Tudor village of Chilham is about 1/3 of a mile;  its stunning square surrounded by 15C timber framed houses is sometimes used for film sets.The village has two pubs, a train station, bus stop and Post Office. Groceries, fruit and vegetables are obtainable from nearby farm shops.Easy access to many of Kent’s attractions, its historic old towns, famous castles and gardens, the coast and  nature reserves.The historic cottages are in immaculate condition, well equipped with all modern facilities including free wifi;  lovingly  cared for by the same owners for the past 27 years. You are assured of a warm welcome at our Victorian guest house situated in its own gardens, one of the very few in the area with private off road parking. Over the years the charming building has been tastefully modernised to provide clean and comfortable accommodation whilst still retaining many of its original features. Our room features include a hospitality tray with a selection of hot beverages, flat screen digital TV with freeview, free WiFi and toiletries.We are within 10 minutes of the Channel Tunnel and 15 minutes to the Dover ferries, making it ideal for anyone requiring a break in their journey. The town centre with its restaurants, bars and clubs and the Leas Cliff Hall are only a short stroll away and the seafront, leas coastal park, children’s play area and picturesque harbour are also within easy reach. So many beautiful, exciting and interesting places are also within easy reach by car, train or bus: the cathedral city of Canterbury and its unique world heritage site attractions, Dover, the medieval town of Rye, Leeds Castle, wildlife parks, miniature railways, stately homes and glorious gardens are just some of the attractions. The north downs with its rolling hills and pretty villages are on the outskirts of Folkestone. We welcome families, well behaved pets for a small additional charge and motorbikes, which can be parked safely away from the main car park.

Outside there is a small play area with swings and slide.  Children and adults are most welcome to join us feeding the animals each evening.Walkers and Cyclists are very welcome.

Primrose Cottage, which is set back off the road, is the last of four cottages in what once one known as Primrose Alley. The first three cottages have now been converted into one dwelling where we live and we are pleased to be able offer Primrose Cottage as holiday accommodation for individuals and families looking to stay in this beautiful part of The Garden of England. The cottage is believed to be 15C and has a wealth of original and interesting features such as exposed beams, inglenook fire place and small twisting staircase (with handrail).Although is has a cosy feel the rooms are spacious and the cottage sleeps 5.The cottage had gas central heating throughout.The lounge has a red tiled floor, comfortable suite, inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove (fuel provided), TV (with freeview) & DVD player with a small library of DVDs.A number of games and books are also provided together with a travel cot and high chair.The dining room has an oak sideboard and dining table and chairs for five people.The well equiped kitchen includes a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, electric oven with gas hobs and microwave. You will find everything you need from cork screw to fishslice and from potato masher to cafetiere!Upstairs there are two large bedrooms, one sleeping 2 in a kingsize bed and the other containing 3 single beds.The modern bathroom has a corner bath.The cottage is centrally heated throughout.Privately fenced patio area, BBQ and garden furniture for alfresco dining or for storage of cycles.And finally if you need anything we are only next door and willing to help! Please note that the small spiral stairs may not be suitable for the infirm although there is a handrail.Primrose Cottage is in the delightful village of Bridge, just a stone’s throw from historic Canterbury. The village has 3 pubs, a well stocked convenience store, post office, chemist, health centre, park with children’s play area, dentist, butchers and 2 hairdressers. With excellent links onto the A2, Bridge is the perfect spot for exploring East Kent. There are also regular buses into Canterbury. Bridge village is situated in the Nailbourne Valley in an attractive rural setting.

We are pleased to offer self-catering accommodation in a newly erected log cabin, built in the grounds of our 17th century home, with views of The North Downs here in Thurnham, Kent.The Cabin (23ft by 10ft) has been decorated and fitted out with a contemporary look and offers full heating throughout.  The bedroom has a comfortable double bed, with an en suite shower room.  We provide toiletries, hairdryer, and a couple of towelling robes with matching slippers, just so you’ll feel pampered!  And if you need it, there is a futon in the living room that can be converted into an extra bed.After a day spent enjoying the outdoors, you might want to relax in front of the television or just enjoy the flicker of the flames created by our instant-heat electric fire.  If you want to prepare your own meals, there’s an oven, microwave and hobs.  We’ll even arrange for a food delivery if that’s what you want and store it in the refrigerator ready for your arrival.Weather permitting, you will be able to sit out on your own private veranda that overlooks the North Downs and dine alfresco.  You’ll find a barbecue in the shed we have provided, which can also house any bikes you might decide to bring.  Fortunately, The Cabin is completely fenced, with its own entrance and land, so if you do bring a four-legged friend, you can all relax.We can advise you on local walks and cycle routes, even those including our wonderful local pubs!  This area is steeped in history so you might perhaps choose to visit nearby Leeds Castle and find out why Henry VIII stayed there.  The shops are a short drive away.If you are looking for a rural retreat, set at the end of a bridleway and surrounded by fields, why not use The Cabin as a base?  Whatever your individual requirements – whether it be walking, biking or a romantic break – we will ensure a tailored approach to your stay, in a clean and well-maintained environment.  Also provided:Blu-ray player, electric kettle, toaster, small fridge freezer, boot warmer, ordnance survey maps, bed linen and towels included, battery operated torch, fold-away dining table, chairs and coffee table, Scrabble and cards.  Sun loungers.Travel cot, high chair, dog bed.On request with additional cost:  welcome hamper, breakfast hamper, food order, cooked breakfasts, home-made evening meals to reheat, packed lunches, cleaning and laundry service.
